The Saban Center’s “Iraq Index,” a project of the Brookings Institution, is a ubiquitous data source in the debate over the Iraq war and its aftermath. The Saban Center home page describes it thus:

And I heard it from a lot of Lieutentants and Captains while I was in Iraq.
The New York Times, in its latest edition–sky is falling, leak in the damn, little boy crying wolf–reporting has this headline:
“Young Officers Leaving Army at a High Rate”
And then provides us with this chart.

Coming on the heels of the month with some of the lowest U.S. military fatalities in Iraq and a civil war that didn’t get off the ground, investors in Zarqawi’s Al Qaida in Iraq are looking for a turn around.
Al Qaida in Iraq is owned by the Hedge Fund Jihad Inc. which owns a majority of the shares.
Last week, Jihad shareholders shook up Al Qaida in Iraq’s upper managment, promoting Abdullah bin Rashed al-Baghdadi to CEO.
Zarqawi will stay on as Vice President of Jihad operations.

A suicide bomber rammed a pickup truck filled with explosives into a Shiite mosque here Monday, killing at least 10 Iraqis…
The suicide truck bomber in Baghdad hid his explosives with dates. Worshipers were filtering out of the tiny mosque when the bomber struck. One witness said the explosion would have killed even more people if not for concrete barriers set in front of the mosque.
“The barricades were moved from their place by the force of the explosion,” said Oday Mohammed, 26.
When Newsweek publishes this false story about Korans, there are massive protests.
When newspapers publish cartoons like the one below, there are massive protests.
When a jihadist terrorist blows up a mosque…there are, uh, well, no protests.
Not surprised by the contents, but what 60 Minutes actually left in the segment about Bin Landen’s former bodyguard, Abu Jandal and what they let Mike “Imperial Hubris” Scheuer be quoted saying.
