NBC’s Richard Engle makes much of a fisherman who goes about his business despite gunfire “100 yards away.”

Listen closely, and you will hear the sound of one AK firing.
The fisherman was not worried, because it was not a shoot out.
The fisherman was not worried, because he probably owns an AK. When I was in Iraq, I quickly learned that owning an AK in Iraq is basically a requisite of citizenship for males.
The fisherman is not worried, because, like most Iraqis, he has shot off a few rounds for celebration or sorrow. It is called Celebration Fire.
Or, and this is the least likely explanation, he may not be worried because it is NBC and the whole thing was staged.
