CAIR, media, miss the message of the so-called “insensitive” and “Inappropriate” song purportedly sung by a Marine at talent show in Iraq.

A music video posted to the Internet, telling a tale about a U.S. Marine killing members of an Iraqi family, is being condemned by an Islamic group and investigated by the Marine Corps.

The four-minute video, called “Hadji Girl,” appears to be sung by a Marine in front of a cheering audience. The lyrics talk about the Marine gunning down members of an Iraqi woman’s family after they confront him with automatic weapons.

The U.S. Marine Corps today said it agrees with a prominent national Islamic advocacy group that a video posted on the Internet apparently showing Marines cheering a song that glorifies the killing of Iraqi civilians is “insensitive” and “inappropriate.”

First, a lot of the cheering is from the phrase “Durka, Durka” which comes from the movie Team America:  World Police.

Anyone who has spent much time in Iraq with grunts realizes “durka, durka” is a running gag.

Second, CAIR says the song glorifies the killing of civillians.  False.  If you actually listen to the song, you will hear the girl is leading the Marine into a trap.  The girl’s father and brother are so excited, they blast away killing the girl. 

The Marine in the song then takes a play from the insurgent playbook and uses another girl as a human shield which the father and brother gladly blow away.

The song concludes with the Marine engaging and destroying the father and brother.

Third, the Marines response was inappropriately politically correct.

My Corps has become emasculated in fear of the drive-by media.

The appropriate response would have been to play this video clip.

And then ask the reporters to go ask the producers of the insurgent clips to perform an investigation and demand the offenders be properly disciplined for their insensitivity.
