Why is Afghanistan the forgotten war?

Because it is the less controversial war.

Except for the communist left, Afghanistan is supported politically.

But the “mainstream” left does not support Iraq, which means it is a political controversy and thus deserves more media coverage.

Afghanistan is the “Forgotten War” because the media agrees with the the left that Iraq was (Insert Liberal Talking Point Here).

According to the left, Iraq was a distraction from the War on Terror.  Never mind that Zarqawi and other Qaida types were making their way to Iraq after Afghanistan fell.

Afghanistan, except for the the proto-communists, is seen as justified and therefore legitimate and unworthy of media much media coverage.

Afghanistan is not forgotten by most people, but is by the media because it does not fit the Legacy Media’s preferred narrative of controversy.
