The Saturday edition of the CBS evening news caught our eye as it lives up to the old media maxim.

When I was working in TV, I learned that ‘if it bleeds it leads’ is not just a snarky comment for cynics, but actually is the standard operating procedure for the media.

But what to do when there are two bleeders?

Who leads then and who is the tag at the end of the story?

Well, CBS has resolved the delima.

American blood leads, follow-up on U.S. Forces accused of illegally harming Iraqis is second and bringing up the rear is U.S. Forces causing blood to flow from the enemy.

But that isn’t what caught our eye, what did catch our eye was CBS reporting on a successful operation by the coalition.

I’m sure CBS will not make the mistake again.
